I read ocean passage recollections whenever they are available. I enjoyed this one much more than most. Clever, engrossing, witty and sentimental - all done well with flair. Entertaining and insightful, I'd recommend it to anyone who is looking forward to ending their day on a good note.
Most books do not hold my attention easily in the beginning. This book grabbed it and kept it. The author expresses ideas I can relate to and I enjoyed his style. Good read, or in my case, listen. Anyone will enjoy this story. I am looking forward to A Foolish Odyssey.
I accidentally discovered this book. I just wanted to read a summary but I accidentally ordered it instead. What a great accident. This is a wonderful read, full of colorful description and personal insight into sailing and life. I highly recommend this book, it is a gem.
This is a great read. A down to earth story that many can relate to. Life adventure told in truth and honesty. Liked it so much, I am reading the sequel, A foolish Odyssey.
This resonates with my sense of "Huckleberry Finn" adventure on the cheap, learning on the run where every misadventure teaches invaluable lessons & makes you stronger.
Hawkesford writes for those of us seeking our own way of living a meaningful life--sailors, homesteaders, expatriates, mavericks, what-have-you--folks looking for something more.
