Happy New Year! Let’s make it a good one, eh?
With the first full writing week of 2023 under my belt I thought I’d mark the occasion by sharing something with you.
The image above is of my writing mind map as it was this morning. It’s on my second monitor every time I open up Scrivener to write a new scene.
It’s also on my iPad so I can think about where the story is going, whether I’m sat in the lounge or awake in bed at 4am.
Like my mind, it’s a pretty unordered and random jumble of thoughts that change regularly.
If you click on the image, you should be able to open it at full size, zoom in, look around, read everything written there.
I know it won’t make sense to you. Hell, it makes little sense to me. But the names of the characters are there, some of the story is there. It feels like I’m giving away my secrets.
But if you’ve followed the journey so far, I’m happy for you to see them.
It was the beginning of August when I decided to write some fiction, it’s taken 5 months to get where I am today – 82% of the way through the first draft of the first book.
If I’m to reach my target of having a series of books published in 12 month’s time, there’s a hell of a lot to do. Frankly, I still don’t know if it’s possible.
What I do know is that writing has become an integral part of my life and that I’ll keep doing it. All I can do is all I can do, the rest will do what it will.
Have a good one friends.
