WIP Report #5

If thinking constitutes work then I’ve worked hard this week.

Problem is, there’s not much to show.

I may have mentioned it before, but I have a quote from Raymond Chandler pinned to my corkboard:

“A good story cannot be devised, it has to be distilled”

Mr Chandler should know.

So here I am, deep in the backwoods, trying to make moonshine.

I like that analogy.

Moonshine was about more than sticking it to the man.

The folks that made it used old family recipes, they took pride in their work.

The end product had the power to make people laugh and cry, let them forget about their troubles and escape for a while.

Maybe I should start calling myself ‘The Bootleg Writer’.

I’m off back into the woods now.

Catch you next week.

P.S. I’d love some feedback on my latest series title idea :

Where the Rocks Bleed – Tales of Ancient Cornwall
